In May 2025, ATEB Cleaning Services was called in for a last-minute commercial fridge cleaning project at a Dollar General store in Jaffrey, NH. The request came from an HVAC contractor overseeing refrigeration repairs and inspection work for the store. The situation was urgent because another cleaning company had walked off the job after refusing to clean a stocked fridge, leaving the contractor scrambling to keep the project on schedule.
That is when ATEB stepped in.
A Job Others Walked Away From
The original cleaning vendor refused to complete the job because they did not want to remove food items from one of the store’s fridges. With deadlines approaching and multiple contractors depending on the fridges being ready, the HVAC company needed a new solution. We answered the call and began the job that same day.
Strategic Execution in Tight Conditions
With only limited time available, we broke the work into three clear phases to stay on track while accommodating the needs of other vendors. In total, we deep-cleaned 39 commercial fridges across the store. This included safely removing all shelves, racks, and stored food, followed by a full internal cleaning of each unit.
In the store’s expired inventory area, we encountered a particularly neglected fridge with thick sticky spills and cream-based residue. Although this fridge was not part of the scope, we flagged it as noncompliant and cleaned it anyway to help the store avoid future sanitation risks.
Collaboration Across Teams
Throughout the process, we coordinated closely with two other companies — the HVAC team managing equipment inspections and repairs, and a retail service company responsible for reapplying price labels and reorganizing products once the fridges were clean.
Our job was not just about cleaning. It was about enabling every other contractor on-site to do their work. Without clean, prepped refrigeration units, the project could not move forward.

Despite rainy conditions, our team remained focused and adaptable. One of our team members power-washed the racks outside in the rain to keep things moving. It was a moment that exemplified our approach — get the job done, no excuses, and deliver excellent results under pressure.
