ATEB Cleaning Services provides recurring healthcare environmental cleaning for a medical center of approximately 21,000 square feet in Nashua, New Hampshire. Since 2026, a two-technician team has delivered after-hours service five days per week. The client’s identity is kept confidential.
Project Overview
The facility combines examination and treatment rooms, patient rooms, reception and waiting areas, corridors, restrooms, administrative offices and staff break rooms. ATEB’s role is to bring all of these under one coordinated program: clinical disinfection, patient-room cleaning, terminal and isolation-room cleaning, mechanized floor maintenance, interior glass and general janitorial service, delivered by one team and managed through one provider. The original service agreement remains active.
The Challenge: Maintaining a 21,000-Square-Foot Medical Center
A medical center of this size is several cleaning environments under one roof, each with different requirements:
- Patient-care environments. Exam rooms, treatment rooms and patient rooms need careful environmental cleaning and disinfection of the surfaces patients and staff touch most.
- Isolation areas. Isolation rooms call for infection-control precautions, appropriate PPE and facility-specific procedures.
- Terminal cleaning. Some rooms need a more complete cleaning and disinfection process than routine service.
- Public areas. Waiting rooms, reception and corridors carry steady traffic from patients, visitors and staff.
- Administrative areas. Offices and break rooms must be kept up alongside the clinical spaces.
- Building surfaces. Floors, interior windows and glass need their own methods and equipment.
Many providers can handle one or two of these. The challenge here is delivering all of them across roughly 21,000 square feet, at each scheduled visit, with consistent results and the right procedure in each type of room.
Our Solution: Five-Day After-Hours Healthcare Cleaning
ATEB assigns two cleaning technicians to the medical center, providing after-hours service five days per week. Each technician works approximately four to six hours per visit, for a total of approximately eight to twelve combined labor-hours per visit.
Because the service runs after hours, the team works around the center’s operations and coordinates with any healthcare personnel or patients who may be present. A defined scope and written checklists set out what is covered at each scheduled visit, so a program with this many components stays consistent over time.
Exam, Patient Room and Treatment Area Cleaning
Examination rooms, treatment rooms and patient rooms are cleaned at every scheduled visit. The work focuses on environmental surfaces and high-touch points, floors and accessible surfaces, following the cleaning responsibilities the facility has assigned to ATEB.
Cleaning and disinfection are treated as separate steps. Cleaning removes soil from a surface; disinfection treats it. ATEB uses Rescue™ Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) disinfectant, and like any EPA-registered disinfectant it works only when used as its label directs: correct dilution where applicable, compatibility with the surface, and the full wet-contact time. Following the label is part of the procedure, not an afterthought.
Terminal Cleaning and Isolation-Room Disinfection
Terminal and isolation-room cleaning are what most clearly separate this project from ordinary medical office janitorial service.
Terminal cleaning is a more comprehensive cleaning and disinfection of a room than routine service. ATEB performs it according to the facility’s procedures, covering the room more completely than a standard scheduled clean.
Isolation-room cleaning requires appropriate infection-control precautions, PPE, facility-specific procedures and careful attention to preventing cross-contamination. It also depends on coordination with healthcare personnel, who determine when a room is ready and which precautions apply.
Both are ongoing parts of ATEB’s responsibilities at the medical center, delivered within the same program as routine cleaning rather than through a separate vendor.
Floor Maintenance, Interior Windows and Shared Spaces
Floors are a significant part of the work in a facility this size. ATEB uses floor-cleaning machinery to maintain floors across clinical, patient-facing, administrative and circulation areas, which helps keep large floor areas consistently clean within each visit.
Interior windows and glass are cleaned as part of the same program. Clean glass in reception, waiting and other assigned areas matters because it is one of the first things patients and visitors notice.
The recurring program also covers:
- Waiting rooms and reception areas
- Restrooms
- Hallways and corridors
- Administrative offices
- Staff break rooms
- Floors throughout assigned areas
ATEB removes ordinary facility trash as part of its scope. Regulated medical waste and biohazard waste remain the responsibility of the medical center’s clinical personnel, and environmental cleaning is kept separate from clinical procedures and medical equipment reprocessing. Clear boundaries like these keep responsibilities unambiguous for everyone in the building.
Color-Coded Equipment, Written Checklists and Supervisor Inspections
Color-coded equipment. ATEB uses color-coded cleaning equipment at the medical center to keep tools separated between designated areas. In a building that combines patient rooms, clinical spaces, restrooms and shared areas, that separation helps reduce the risk of carrying contamination from one area to another.
Written cleaning checklists. Checklists define who is responsible for what, keep coverage consistent across different room types, confirm that tasks are completed, and give technicians and supervisors a shared record to work from.
Supervisor inspections. Supervisors inspect completed work to confirm it meets the scope, identify areas needing attention and support consistent service over time.
Training. ATEB’s crew, including the technicians on this account, is trained in Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) and Hazard Communication. The training covers recognition of exposure hazards, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, understanding chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets, appropriate protective measures and established workplace safety procedures.
Results: Consistent Service and a Responsive Cleaning Partner
The outcome is a medical center with one accountable provider for work that is often split across several vendors. Clinical disinfection, patient-room cleaning, terminal and isolation-room cleaning, floor maintenance, interior glass and general janitorial service run as a single program, delivered by a two-technician team five days per week and held to a written scope through checklists and supervisor inspections.
The relationship has continued under its original agreement since 2026. The medical center has expressed satisfaction with ATEB’s cleaning services, particularly recognizing the team’s responsiveness and willingness to address facility needs promptly.
One medical center. Multiple specialized cleaning requirements. One accountable cleaning provider.
